Twin Roll Crusher

The Twin Roller Crusher (TRC) is designed for flexible particle size reduction of soft to hard materials, which can be dry, or slightly wet and sticky. For materials such as coal, coke, cement clinker, limestone, gypsum, bauxite, salt, oil shale and different types of ores.

What’s the benefit?

The Twin Roll Crusher (TRC):

  • Is able to crush almost every type of material.
  • Works well with dry or slightly wet materials like coal, coke, cement clinker, limestone, gypsum, bauxite, salt, oil shale and different types of ores.
  • Is adjustable with respect to discharging particle size.
  • Is equipped with torque switches to prevent damage if a hard object (e.g. a tool) is accidentally dropped into it.
  • Provides a unique self-cleaning action.
  • Has a solid design and very reliable performance.
  • Has low maintenance costs and low noise level.

What does it do?

The Twin Roller Crusher (TRC) is designed for flexible particle size reduction of soft to hard materials, which can be dry, or slightly wet and sticky. For materials such as coal, coke, cement clinker, limestone, gypsum, bauxite, salt, oil shale and different types of ores.

The Twin Roller Crusher can be used as a primary, secondary or even tertiary crusher.

How does it do it?

The TRC consists of an inlet opening, two counter-rotating roll shafts each with independent gear driven motors and a base frame.

The material is fed by gravity into the top inlet opening through a hopper or duct from where it is drawn into the crushing zone, by the two counter-rotating roll shafts, whereby material is crushed between the teeth and the roll bodies.

The twin roll shafts can be driven individually or synchronously controlled. The design ensures a unique self-cleaning action.

Adjustment of the crushing characteristics is possible by adjusting the distance between the roll shafts. The reduction ratio is typically 4:1.

Variants

The TRC comes in 4 different standard variants, which mainly differs in scale and therefore also equipment. An overview of the characteristics of the four different variants can be found in the brochure.

Options

The TRC’s roll shafts come in a variety of geometries equipped with smooth or rough crushing surfaces, with roll geometry and rotation speed to be configured depending on the specific material requirements.
